Full-Stack Software Engineer

From supporting engineers with troubleshooting to talking people down from drunken shenanigans, I’ve always loved helping others with their issues and I enjoy implementing these skills daily as a web developer.

My interest in coding came from my dad. He’s the geekiest man I know and loves modding games, which was always so fun for me to watch as a kid. Especially replacing the dragon in Skyrim with Thomas the Train! Now that I’m a web developer, I’ve noticed how I’ve been practicing coding for a long time without even realizing I was programming. I started my career off bartending and was able to learn a lot of problem solving skills, many of which I still use regularly to help engineers and support different teams across Twilio. After a few years, I was given the opportunity to use my problem solving skills to help find new ways to better data retrieval and intergation in the Healthcare field.

My time in Healthcare was short and sweet. I learned a lot of great skills like accuracy, time management, and flexibility, but then decided it wasn’t for me. I felt like I wasn’t getting everything I had set out to gain from this industry, so I moved on to bigger and better things.

I entered the tech world as a Products Ops Specialist, and noticed that I really enjoyed watching the engineers resolve issues and create awesome new products. This helped guide my decision to  pursue this career and now, as a developer, I really enjoy what I do! I love solving my own problems, the continuous learning it takes to keep up, and how solving even a small bug is such a rush of endorphins.
